It was an excellent past week and a half!!! So many exciting and wonderful things happened in this time, I could not quite figure out how to blog about it all. So I am just going to start at the beginning and go from there.

First, I got to go home and play with my mom for her birthday! It was fun just getting to hang out with her and the family and a great time to just relax before a really busy weekend began. Every time I am home I am reminded just how wonderful my family is. My mother and father are the reason why I am where I am and who I am. They demonstrated their faith to us on a daily basis, and I feel so grateful that I have the best mother on the planet. She might argue with me that her mother is the best, but I just look at that as a bonus! Thank you Mom for being who you are! I love you and happy birthday again, even if it is late!

I left the birthday celebration and came back in order to meet an incoming airplane at the airport at 8am. This plane was definitely worth the early morning as it carried the person coming in to train my leadership girls. Anissa Burnley, one of my dear friends from Cal Baptist, came up for the entire weekend, and we were able to play together almost all day Friday before we picked up the girls, and continued to play that evening! Then Saturday she spent the entire day training my three girls in what the cost of discipleship is, and what it will entail to them personally. Afterward we went and tried to do a scavenger hunt at the mall, but with only two girls showing up for that, it did not really work, so we ended up at Origin Coffee and Tea for their open mic night, where we were enjoyed some banjo music.

Anissa and I found this really awesome mini doughnut place in Old Town! Will definitely be back for these yummies!

Spending 15 minutes with God.

Anissa – You were wonderful and I will be forever grateful for you helping me with! The girls hopefully learned a lot, and I cannot wait to put them to work!

Scavenger Hunt in the mall – one of the items was a platypus.

Did I mention Banjo music at Origin?

We ran into Jason at Origin – not a surprise to find him there on Open Mic Night. :)

After dropping Anissa off with her sister after church, I headed back up to Red Bluff for the arrival of my nephew on Monday! He arrived at 5:01 pm by c-section. Samuel Wayne is an adorable 8 lbs 9 oz, 20 1/2 inches long, with a 15 inch head. He’s so precious, and I am so in love with him.

On Tuesday I had to leave to get back to Sacramento in time for our fourth party – the game night. 17 people came and played various games that evening. There were board games, card games, pool, air hockey, fooseball and fellowship time. Once the sun started to set we played a great version of hide and seek with all the buildings on HBBC’s campus, and then finished the night with two large games of sardines. It was a good night, and I am glad I was there! I am ready to move back into Bible study though.

They are not fighting. Luke dropped the cards, Tosha was picking them up. I promise.

Yummy snacks!

I thought I was working with adults. So let me officially thank all the parents out there who did not teach their children to pick up after themselves. Thank you Adam and Dilan for helping me clean up!

Not really good at the hiding part of hide and seek.

Finally, while I was home for my mother’s birthday I found out I was accepted to seminary!!!!! Yet more reasons to celebrate and enjoy the past couple of weeks! I am super excited about this! I will explain how that will work in my next post. In the meantime, here is a sneak peek of my next major event. Can you guess what is coming up on August 25th??????
